Krotos Audio, the makers of Dehumaniser and Reformer, as used in numerous feature films and games like "The Jungle Book", has released a social media tease for their new sound design plug-in, going by the name, "W". 

From the video, you get the distinct impression that the "W" could stand for "Weapon". This looks to be a purpose-built weapon sound design tool, offering extensive tailoring and a purpose pre-recorded sound FX library.

Having worked on a fair few action movies and TV drama shows, I know that the classic "Dirty Harry Magnum" sound effect is getting very tired these days. This sound design tool could be exactly the way to keep things fresh and looks certain to become popular in the Game Sound Design sector. Not every sound designer has access to a firing range and a wide variety of weaponary.
