Passeq from SPL is a plug-in emulation of a complex passive EQ. The filters in Passive equalisers interact with each other and the smooth results they are known for are the result of the complex interactions of all these components working together.

In this free video tutorial, brought to you with the support of Plugin Alliance, Pro Tools Expert team member Julian Rodgers tries out the Passeq on the drums in a track. Julian uses it to control the bottom end and shape the kick drum by combining a boost and a cut from low shelf filters, the composite shape produced by two bell filters in the midrange and the sweetening offered by the HF boost.
