Our friends at Focusrite are very pleased to announce new USB-C versions of the highly successful Clarett range of audio interfaces.

The new Clarett USB-C range features low-noise mic pres designed to have low distortion and offer a clean, open and transparent sound. The Air-enabled mic preamps have been designed to reproduce the input impedance, clarity and frequency response curve of Focusrite'soriginal ISA mic preamp.

There are three interfaces in the new line-up. The Clarett 2Pre USB with 10-in and 4-out, the Clarett 4Pre USB with 18-in and 8-out and the Clarett 8Pre USB offering 18-in and 20-out.

With a quoted, up to 119dB of dynamic range, the new Clarett USB range can also now operate with any Mac or PC supporting USB 2.0 or higher and well done Focusrite for including a USB-C cable to sweeten the out of box experience.

Focusrite has told us that years of analogue circuit design experience have gone these new Claretts to enable them to offer the same 24-bit/192kHz A-D and D-A conversion as their Thunderbolt counterparts.

The most compact of the three interfaces the Clarett 2Pre USB provides two mic/line/instrument inputs, four line outputs, MIDI I/O and an ADAT input to allow you to record up to 10 channels at a time. Clarett 4Pre USB and Clarett 8Pre USB add mic/line inputs, S/PDIF I/O and two headphone outputs with volume controls.

You can find out more about the Clarett USB range from the Focusrite website. We look forward to seeing the new Clarett USB range and NAMM and getting out hands on them for testing very soon after.
