Community Feedback

  • Joerg Witzsch - Thank you for answering his question about hardware latency. Of course, I was sorry to hear, that Pro Tools "vanilla" still does not fully correct these issues. But great, that you could show me the steps needed to at least manually correct and work around these issues.  I found a handy little tool, Latency Test Utility from that I wanted to pass on to you and the Pro Tools Expert community. It helps you to perfectly measure the round-trip latency of your setup without any hassle. LTU is a Windows app that measures the true round-trip latency of your computer audio setup, from input to output via an ASIO driver and you can use the LTU to test different hardware, drivers and applications.

Questions From The Community Kindly Sponsored by RSPE Audio Solutions

  • Kyle Smith - recently made the jump from Apple to PC for his production computer and isn’t seeing the kind of performance he was expecting jumping to a higher spec machine. Can we suggest what we can do to improve the performance of his system?

  • Andreas Russo - has a Pro Tools 12 Native and UAD Apollo 8 setup and when he is mixing it all automation rides register very late. Can we advise what he can do?

  • Russ - I’ve done what some suggest is hard and upgraded some vital components in my Mac Trashcan with few tears adding a new 1TB SSD and upgraded the RAM to 64GB. It took about 10 minutes tops.

  • Mike - Now it is out, mine is iZotope RX7. They have taken another look at how they can harness their machine learning technology and produced Repair Assistant which is great for beginner and expert alike, the Dialogue Deverb ups the game in Dereverb tools and the Music Rebalance is voodoo. Check out my detailed article and demos.

  • Alan - Revoice Pro 4 by Synchro Arts, launched today (Monday). I was privileged to be on the beta test team, so have already been rescued big time by RVP4. Even if you don’t normally have to deal with fitting ADR or Performance Tuning day to day, it’s a great resource to have in your post production tool box.
