In this premium video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert team member Julian Rodgers looks at four uses for Spot Mode in Music Production.

Spot Mode - Not Just For Post

Well actually is it mostly for post! But just because it is indispensable to people working to picture doesn't mean it isn't also useful to people making music.

Julian offers the caveat that some of these examples are alternative methods and the same results can be achieved without using Spot Mode but if you like this way of working, why not use it?

Here are four possible uses:

  • Restoring Clips to their original position
  • Using a sync point to position a point within a clip at exactly the right time
  • An alternative to nudge when time aligning tracks
  • Use with the TCE Trimmer to tempo match when not working to a grid
