Antelope Audio Announce Four New FPGA Compressors

The team at Antelope Audio are very pleased to announce another batch of four vintage style FPGA effects available on their Orion, Zen and Goliath interfaces. This time we get classic compressors.

BA-6A

BA-6A is a design straight out of the 1950's and is based on that classic limiting amplifier circuit that we all know and love. The original hardware was designed for broadcast but quickly made the transition to the studio due to its ease of use and amazing tone and the original hardware is still in high demand.  The BA-6A will pass on that vintage sound to any recording but will work particularly well on bass and vocals.

FET-A78

If you want that classic compression punch then the FET -A78 is for you. This is the sound of pop and rock production. Treat individual tracks with the FET-A78 and you will find that those tracks pop out and demand attention. Try it on a buss or group and it can help blend and caress parts together.

Grove Hill LIVERPOOL

Grove Hill LIVERPOOL is a coming together of American and British compression technologies. While its roots can be traced back to recordings from the 1960s the Liverpool is just as at home on lush, modern pop productions as it is on classic rock and roll.

SMT-100A

The 1980's are represented in this update with the SMT-100A This is one of the easiest compressors to get used to working on any style of music and the hardware is one of my personal favorites. However, easy to use does not detract from the sound it imparts. The SMT-100A is perfect for vocals, drums, and punchy bass where you want a fast attack time.  The original unit has been the preferred choice with top engineering professionals for over 30 years. The Antelope team have worked hard to preserve the special sound of this simplistic design and in FPGA format to enable users to get the smooth tone of valves.

Where To Find Them

BA-6A, FET-A78, and SMT-100A are already available for Antelope Audio’s Orion 32HD, Goliath HD, Orion Studio Rev. 2017, Orion Studio, and Orion Studio HD audio interfaces (with Goliath, Orion 32+, Zen Tour, and Zen Studio+ coming soon), while Grove Hill LIVERPOOL is already available for Antelope Audio’s HDX audio interfaces — Orion Studio HD, Orion 32HD, and Goliath HD — with the rest coming soon. The addition of these four new compressors to their ever-expanding library of FPGA vintage hardware-based effects enables owners of Antelope Audio’s  Thunderbolt and HDX audio interfaces to ultimately access even more unique hardware models of some of the most desirable vintage effects with real-time performance without relying on DSP or native processing while letting loose with the alternative Antelope Audio Routing Matrix view.
