45% Of Voters Believed Superior Drummer 3's Tracker Replaced Drums To Be Real Drums

We recently ran a poll to find out if the Pro Tools Expert Community could tell the difference between a real live drum recording and, the same drum recording, but with the snare, kick and hi-hat elements replaced with Toontrack's Superior Drummer 3 Samples. For the test, we used the new Tracker feature.

A staggering 45% of those who took part in the test believed example A to be the "real" unreplaced drums when in fact example B that was James' original drums.

You can listen to both audio examples in the original post: Can You Tell Toontrack Superior Drummer 3.0 Tracker From Real Drums? Review And Poll

Just over half of those who took part in the test did identify the real drums and got it right. It was close, and I have to admit, I had to get confirmation from James before writing this post regarding which example was the "real" kit and which one was the Tracker example as I couldn't tell!

What The Community Said

Here are two views from the Disqus comments on the poll story...

What Is Superior Drummer 3 Tracker?

Toontrack's new Tracker feature in Superior Drummer 3 is a powerful and flexible drum replacement and augmentation platform. Tracker uses AI to analyse live drum tracks which integrates drum performances seamlessly with either Toontrack's drum sample library or users own samples. Watch James' video to see Tracker in action and to learn about several unique drum replacement features found only in Tracker.

Have you used Superior Drummer 3's Tracker system yet? We would love to know how you are using it in your workflows.
