IBC 2017 - Nugen Audio Show Upcoming Dolby Module For AMB Processor App

Nugen Audio will be in their usual position on Stand 8.D56 at IBC and this year they will be previewing a yet to be released Dolby module for their modular Audio Management Batch (AMB) processor software due to be released by the end of the year.

They will also be showing the recently released Halo Upmix Immersive Extension which is now fully compatible with Pro Tools 12.8, enabling you to create immersive mixes and natively upmix to Atmos 7.1.2 stems.

What Is The Nugen Audio AMB For?

The Nugen Audio AMB application is designed to enable post-production facilities and broadcasters to speed up workflows significantly and reduce delivery times for a range of different tasks, with separate modules available for upmixing and loudness management. AMB also offers threaded algorithm processing and multiple processing threads enabling the analysis and processing of multiple files simultaneously.

By building a modular application Nugen Audio has designed AMB to offer complete scalability, allowing facilities of all sizes to add the exact processing modules they need and tailor the system to their specific requirements. Examples include extensions to repurpose content for LRA or to process audio within MXF or .mov files.

AMB comes with two watch folders/processing queues as standard. If you need extra power and speed, the AMB Queue Expansion module provides additional watch folders/processing queues. A total of up to 16 AMB Queue Expansions can be added.

As standard, the base AMB module will include two independent processing threads allowing two simultaneous processes to run in parallel. For even greater speed and efficiency, users can add the AMB Thread Expansion to activate additional processing threads up to a total of 16.

How The New Dolby Module Will Fit Into AMB Workflows

Using Loudness, DynApt® or Upmix modules with the new AMB Dolby Module, you can natively batch process Dolby E, Dolby Digital® and Dolby Digital Plus™ files, reducing delivery times significantly for loudness measurement and correction, dynamics processing and upmixing.

The facility to decode these Dolby formats to linear PCM wave files further supports workflow versatility. The AMB Dolby Module also provides support for Dolby Metadata and Dolby E Program configurations.
