While Ethernet Switches aren't exactly exciting, life becomes very boring, very quickly running an AoIP network with an inadequate switch.

AVB/TSN And PoE 

PreSonus, the makers of Studio One, is one of the prominent brands producing AVB/TSN peripherals. Not all switches are suitable for use on AVB networks and while this restriction has become less of an issue recently as more manufacturers support the new standards, the majority of AVB enabled switches have tended to be large and expensive. A notable exception to this has been the MOTU AVB switch but with the increasing trend towards smaller network endpoints, the simplicity offered by Power over Ethernet (PoE) is invaluable, which is something the MOTU switch doesn't offer.

The PreSonus SW5E is a 5 port Ethernet switch which does feature 4 PoE ports and an internal power supply with a built-in IEC inlet. All ports feature rugged Ethercon connectors. In combination with the PreSonus StudioLive RML-series rack mixer or StudioLive CS18AI control surface the SW5E enables interconnection of PreSonus or non-PreSonus AVB equipment.

Note that as AVB compatibility doesn't necessarily mean AVB equipment from different manufacturers will play nicely together, we recommend that you approach interconnection between manufacturers on a case by case basis.
