Getting Started With Pro Tools - Using Template Sessions To Get Going Quickly

Over the coming weeks, we are going to run a series of free video tutorials produced by Recording Revolution's Graham Cochrane for Avid. Graham made this series in 2015 using Pro Tools 11 but so much of what Graham covers is still relevant and valid that we have decided to run his series here on Pro Tools Expert.

The aim of this series is to demonstrate how to quickly get started with creating music and audio tracks in Pro Tools. If you are new to Pro Tools, or even if you’ve been using Pro Tools for some time I’m sure you will find lots of tips and tricks that will help you to craft great sounding songs that really stand out from the crowd.

Over this 7 part series, Graham will start with practising and working out the song in Pro Tools with the Duet interface using templates, then move through the process of recording guitar, bass and MIDI keyboards with Virtual Instruments. Then he will cover audio and MIDI editing all the way to the final mix and getting your song out the world.

So back to Episode 1 where we use the templates included with Pro Tools to start working on a song.
