In this free video tutorial for Pro Tools Expert, Technical Editor James Ivey shows you how he uses the Universal Audio and Softube Eden WT800 bass amp simulation to craft the bass sound on two very different recordings. 

The first track is a fairly conventional finger style bass part played by Ben Hearn who you may have seen on some of James' other videos.  James uses the Eden WT800 to take the flat DI recording to the next level by using the EQ features on the amp head. He then gives the tone punch using the 4x10 and 1x15 speaker emulations. 

The second track is a more modern sounding part where effects have already been added.  The trick to getting a great bass tone is not always just to add more bass. This time James sweeps to find the frequencies he likes and boosts them and dislikes and cuts them. The body of the tone is then brought back to life using the stunning speaker cabinet models.
