Preview - Audio Ease Show 360Pan Suite V2 With Low Cost Headtracker

Audio Ease has announced that their 360pan suite v2 is coming soon releasing 3 preview videos. They tell us that this update brings some new tools for Mac Pro Tools HD, Reaper and Nuendo users to create spatial audio for 360 video productions.

New Feature Planned For 360pan suite v2

  • Ambisonics convolution reverb called 360reverb
  • Distance automation right from the video window
  • 360radar, shows where your audio is in the video
  • Head tracking using a very affordable external bluetooth headtracking device
  • 2nd order ambisonics (in Reaper)
  • 8 channel spatial workstation compatible ambisonics. (in ProTools, the plan is to replace this by 2nd order as soon as PT supports 9 channel tracks)
  • A Spherical Harmonic HRIR set that folds down second order ambisonics to binaural that we prefer to anything else we've heard.

Bluetooth Head Tracker

The head tracking is made possible by a low cost bluetooth connected inclinometer uni that cost less than 20 Euros. You will be able to buy these from Audio Ease soon but currently, you can get them from online stores including Amazon. Based on the video from Audio Ease you are looking for a "JY901 Inclinometer TTL version MPU9250 module output 9-axis Accelerometer Gyroscope serial port TTL IIC four-rotor".

360reverb Preview

360reverb will be part of the 360pan suite version 2. 360reverb will be a brand new ambisonics convolution reverb intended for headtracked and headphone reproduction.

Containing over 50 new impulse responses recorded with an ambisonics microphone, ranging from concert halls to churches, bedrooms, living rooms, vehicles, office spaces, etc.

360reverb will fully integrated in the 360pan suite v2 enabling you to control distance and reverb with for any panned object right from the video window.

360radar Preview

360radar displays, onto your video window, where your ambisonics source sounds are, whether these sounds are artificially panned or recorded using an ambisonics microphone.

Learn More About Audio Ease 360pan suite

When producing immersive VR content for YouTube you need to be able to output an ambisonics stream for upload. As everyone should do, before you upload to YouTube, you need to be able to check back your encode, the way your end audience will hear it. Audio Ease has developed two 360pan Suite plugins to achieve this.

You can read more about the existing Audio Ease 360pan suite in our article written by Pro Tools Expert team member Alan Sallabank.

When And How Much?

All they are saying at the moment is that they expect to release it soon, but there is no indication of how long 'soon' might be. How much? They also do not know what the pricing or update arrangements will be for v2 yet.
