Free Tutorial - Using The SPL PassEQ Plug-in From Plugin Alliance

See this content in the original post

In this free video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert Team member Julian Rodgers looks at the SPL PassEQ plugin from Plugin Alliance. This Plug-In offers six bands of passive EQ, making it potentially very flexible. Passive EQs rely on fixed value components to offer predefined, selectable frequencies and as such can potentially always be working to their optimum performance. Well known for a pleasing sonic character and a useful amount of interdependence between the bands, the results aren't always predictable but they can be more forgiving than their more common, active counterparts.

Using Overlapping Cuts And Boosts To Build S Shaped EQ Curves

In this video Julian uses the wide choice of frequencies available to build more complex EQ curves by using overlapping but non-identical boosts and cuts to achieve a Pultec bottom end trick style EQ but in the midrange.
