Free Tutorial - How To Focus Stereo Keyboard Sub Bass Using the NUGEN Audio Monofilter Plug-in

See this content in the original post

In this free tutorial you will learn how to use the main controls in Monofilter by Nugen Audio to centre sub bass frequencies in stereo keyboard tracks. Watch to hear examples of how Monofilter can easily focus sub bass in Synth and Rhode tracks while retaining the mids and high stereo image.

Monofilter by Nugen Audio is a very powerful yet simple to use tool that enables users to control the stereo width and phase correlation of low frequencies

Keyboard instruments, such as Synths and Rhodes, will tend to have a lot of low-end sub bass energy that either moves around the stereo field or sits unnecessarily wide in a mix. This low-end sub energy has a tenancy of upsetting processes such as mix bus compression but generally an overall mix can suffer if low sub energy is not in centred in the stereo image

The human ear is more sensitive to hearing stereo information in the mid to high range frequencies no so much in the low sub bass range.

My simple rule of thumb is to centre sub lows in mono while retaining low mids and above in stereo. This is a hard and fast rule that always gets my tracks sitting well together in a mix.
