Tutorial - Using The Plugin Alliance bx_subsynth Plug-in To Add Weight To Instruments

See this content in the original post

In this free video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert Team member Julian Rodgers looks at the bx_subsynth from Plugin Alliance. This plug-in offers the synthesis of sub-bass frequencies an octave below the dominant fundamental in complex signals.

Learn as Julian uses the bx_subsynth to add weight to snares and acoustic guitars.

bx_subsynth Modelled On The The DBX 120XP

The DBX 120XP was a simple but effective hardware unit which gained favour adding an extra boost to the bottom octave in clubs and sound systems. Because the sub was synthesised it offered more than an EQ boost could because it inferred new, musically coherent frequencies not present in the original signal.

Now Available On UAD

Introduced in the new 9.10 update, the bx_subsynth is now available to UAD users as well as natively via Plug-in Alliance. Introducing a third band of synthesis over the DBX 120XP's two with M/S tools, drive and squeeze controls the bx_subsynth offers powerful tools to process instruments, stems and mixes.
