iZotope Free Audio Mixing Masterclass With Enrique Gonzalez Müller - Part 4

Our friends at iZotope are running a free audio mixing masterclass as a series of weekly tutorials taught by award-winning engineer and producer Enrique Gonzalez Müller (Kronos Quartet, Nine Inch Nails, Los Amigos Invisibles, Jason Newsted) and mastering engineer and iZotope Director of Education Jonathan Wyner.

These courses have been released on Mondays through to February 6th. We featured the 3rd part last week where Enrique and Jonathan covered gain staging and using reference recordings.

This week, in part 4, they look at the next two tips under the title "Frequency distribution and preserving the musical balance".

Enrique Gonzalez Müller is a producer, engineer, and musician who has worked with hundreds of artists across a variety of genres, including The Kronos Quartet, Nine Inch Nails, Los Amigos Invisibles, Jason Newsted, L’Aura and more. His work as a producer and engineer has been awarded a Latin GRAMMY award (2009, Best Alternative Music Album) and multiple GRAMMY nominations. He is a professor of Music Production and Engineering at Berklee College of Music.

Jonathan Wyner is an audio technologist, Education Director for iZotope, professor at Berklee College of Music, and Chief Mastering Engineer at M Works Mastering. A musician and performer, he’s mastered and produced more than 5000 recordings during the last 30+ years.
