Sonible Launch New A.I. smart:EQ live Plug-in - Includes An Exclusive Review

Our friends at Sonbile have just released their latest A.I. plug-in smart:EQ live which promises to help live sound engineer use EQ quicker and more precisely. Outside live music applications this is a very handy tool in DAW workflows, especially in music mixing applications. We reviewed Sonible frei:raum sometime ago and believed it was more for post-production workflows rather than music. Thankfully Sonible has appeared to address this with smart:EQ live.

What Is SmartEQ Live? - We Have An Exclusive Review

Smart:EQ is a latency-free live plug-in that features a high-precision adaptive filter that analyzes audio signals then quickly interprets them musically and compensates spectral imbalances in real-time. Smart:EQ live is a very transparent sounding EQ and works quickly to shape audio musically in seconds.

Here is what Sonible has to say about smart:EQ live:

smart:EQ live belongs to the latest generation of AI mixing assistants. The plug-in provides detailed but intuitive controls and allows adjusting the algorithm to the mixing task at hand. Informed by years of hands-on experience, the practice-oriented selection of parameters facilitates a targeted adaptation and control of the smart:engine algorithm to users purposes.

How Does smart:EQ live work?

Bandwidth, responsiveness and the weighting of the autonomous calculated filter curve can be precisely defined. The Threshold and the Limit Line of the smart-band primes the algorithm for the essential signal components. Custom-made profiles are designed to add even more flexibility by optimising the smart algorithm for different source signals. The profiles tell the A.I. what kind of instrument or voice it deals with. Similar to a preset, the user can edit and save profiles individually.
