Case Study - Maroon 5 Use Pro Tools Collaboration - Part 1

Ever since cloud collaboration was introduced by Avid in Pro Tools 12.5 we have been asking how it would work in reality for bands and artists wanting to collaborate with each other. Avid has produced two videos showcasing how Maroon 5 have adopted cloud collaboration into their workflow and how it has changed the way they work.

Collaborating In The Cloud

Thanks to the changes in technology and spending 12-hour days in one studio are becoming a thing of the past for the band Maroon 5. Pro Tools Cloud Collaboration, is now enabling the band can stay connected and co-write new tracks from the road or their respective home studios, across several cities and states. Noah Passovoy the band's producer and engineer explains...

If they’re on the road and I’m here, and we’re working on a song and someone has an idea, they can send it to me instantly. Everyone doesn’t have to be in the same place at the same time in order to make a record anymore.

Jesse Carmichael, who plays keyboards and guitar in the band can also see the possibilities over the horizon...

Right now, this is just the tip of the iceberg with this software. As we move forward, our future albums could be heavily based around cloud sharing.
