Detunized Release Ambisonic Berlin Library

Ambisonic City (Berlin) delivers a spherical surround sound image of a modern European city. It features a vast variety of traffic sounds from vehicles, public transport trains, trams and aeroplanes that were captured at crowded intersections, various squares and arterial roads and the Tegel airport. As a complementary counterpart, the library also contains recordings from wide open spaces, recreation areas, public parks and side roads.

The recordings were made with the Sennheiser Ambisonic microphone and the encoded B-Format FuMa files are ready to use in a wide variety of formats. Ambisonic City (Berlin) is available in two versions:

  1. The Ambisonic version delivers 4 channel B-Format (FuMa, WXYZ) files recorded with the Ambeo VR microphone in an upright position.
  2. The Stereo version contains the same number of files with equal playing length, but, as the name suggestions, only in stereo versions.

By using the free SoundField SurroundZone 2 plug-in you can convert the B-format files into your preferred format (stereo, 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, 6.1, 7.0 or 7.1 surround). You can also use other software to convert the B-format files into binaural formats for VR applications.

Noise Elements: Electrical & Interference comes with a selection of bonus interference sounds from the following libraries:

  • Data Disruption
  • Drones

Myanmar Travel Log From Guido Helbling At Avosound

In March 2016 Guido spent four weeks travelling through Myanmar, encountering exciting locations and fascinating people.

He is, of course, a field recordist by trade, which is why you will find the odd sound recording embedded in his travel log. But apart from lugging around recording gear on top of all the other baggage, he is just like any 'normal' [ insert your own term for anyone not into sound recording ] traveller -- except he, like many of us, would probably get bored if he didn't choose to chase after interesting sounds on holiday.

Myanmar - An overview of the travel route

  • Yangon - 3 days
  • Traveling to Mandalay by bus (1 day)
  • Mandalay - 3 days
  • Pyin U Lwin - 1 day - Shared taxi from Mandalay to Pyin U Lwin
  • Hsipaw - 5 days, of which 2 days trekking in the jungle
  • Inle Lake - 2 days - night bus
  • Mandalay - 1 day - aeroplane
  • Mandalay - Bagan: taking the ferry to Bagan - 1 travel day
  • Bagan - 2 days
  • An odyssey to Mrauk U via Mount Popa, tea house and a journey through no man's land - bus ride total 3 days
  • Mrauk U - Sittwe, by ferry
  • Sittwe - 1 overnight stay
  • Ngapali Beaches - 3 days, local flight
  • Yangon - local flight from Ngapali Beaches to Yangon

You can read the rest of Guido's travel log on the Avosound website as well as enjoying the various sound clips.

Black Friday Offers That have Been Announced

Because it's changing, you might want to check the page regularly to see what else has popped up that wasn't there before.

Avosound also has some special offers on the run-up to Black Friday, including 50% off the Soundstorm and Coll Anderson Sound Libraries.
