Winner - Paul Dobbe

I started my recording career in 1971 at EMI Studios apprentice program as a disc mastering engineer and progressed all the way through to a recording engineer position.  In 1973 I moved to Holland where I worked at DURECO (Dutch Record Company) for several years, before making my way to the USA, where I worked at some of the finest studios in Los Angeles.

I have worked on record albums, movie scores, advertising jingles and television sound, being nominated for five Emmy nominations for my work in television.  Some of the studios I have worked at include Bell Sound, Davlen, United Western Studios, Complete Post and many others.  I have since moved from Los Angeles to the East Coast where I now have my own studio in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, where I am working on various personal projects.

My career has taken me from analog 4 track tape all the way through to the world of digital recording, where in the virtual world so much more is possible.  I have been using the 2016 Stereo Room plug-in, and I am excited to work with the Eventide Anthology XI plugins.  I recall using Eventide's DDL in 1976 for a jazz recording, what a beautiful sound!  I am looking forward to bringing that unique sound to my new projects.  "Mangled Verb" has piqued my interest, and I can't wait to work with the other plug-ins.
