In this free video tutorial for Pro Tools Expert, Technical Editor James Ivey demonstrates how to record your first Electric Guitar into Pro Tools.  

James starts by showing how to set up a DI (Direct Injection) box to enable you to record a clean guitar signal into Pro Tools which can be used for later processing if you decide the sound through the amp if not what you want. 

James then goes on to talk about positioning a dynamic microphone on the speaker cabinet to get the desired tone.

James also shares a couple of tips that are good rules of thumb for recording not only guitars but any instrument where you think you are going to record multiple takes.
