Waves Announce SoundGrid Connect

With this new SoundGrid Connect software, from Waves, you can now connect any ASIO/Core Audio-compatible I/O to the Waves SoundGrid network and offload plugin processing to a SoundGrid DSP server without replacing the interface you are already working with or the playback engine you're already have.

The SoundGrid driver connects your Mac or PC to SoundGrid I/Os and the SoundGrid audio network. It is available as part of the SoundGrid Studio Application and StudioRack. You can get the SoundGrid Studio Application FREE. Use it to:

  • Play back and record with any DAW using a SoundGrid I/O, as part of a SoundGrid audio network (in this case the SoundGrid driver serves as your ASIO/Core Audio playback engine)
  • Connect non-SoundGrid I/Os to the SoundGrid network for plugin processing and mixing (using the driver’s “SoundGrid Connect” feature)
  • Stream your PC or Mac audio content to the SoundGrid network: Use the SoundGrid driver’s WDM and Core Audio Sound engines to monitor and record audio from web browsers (e.g. YouTube), media players, games and other applications via SoundGrid interfaces.
  • Record and play back in the studio or live with any source: SoundGrid I/O device, console expansion card or computer
  • Run up to 128 channels on your computer
  • Offload plugin processing to a SoundGrid server using the StudioRack plugin chainer
  • Patch and mix from multiple computers and I/Os in the SoundGrid network, using the SoundGrid Studio application or the eMotion ST mixer
  • Use multiple DAWs on the same computer simultaneously: Record the same source to two DAWs on the same computer, or route audio from multiple DAWs to the SoundGrid network.
  • Monitor in low latency with a SoundGrid server and a SoundGrid I/O

What You Can Do With SoundGrid Connect

  • Bridge non-SoundGrid I/Os with the SoundGrid network for audio streaming
  • Offload plugin processing to a SoundGrid server using the StudioRack plugin chainer, without any change to your DAW setup
  • Patch and mix from multiple computers and I/Os in the SoundGrid network, using the SoundGrid Studio application or the eMotion ST mixer
  • Collaborate on projects and move between studios with different systems. Any musician working with a host computer and ASIO/Core Audio driver can now connect to your SoundGrid network and vice versa.
