iZotope have released a free spectral shaping plugin called Neutrino that they have designed to add that final polish to your mix. You can insert Neutrino on multiple tracks across your session to reveal a subtle amount of detail that can help lift out details in your mixes. Neutrino is a tease into iZotope's newest mixing technology which they are putting the finishing touches too. 

Neutrino - Four Modes Of Operation

1. Voice - which is designed to add clarity and detail to help vocals sit on top of the mix without being harsh or strident.
2. Instrument - has been designed to smooth resonances while preserving the authentic character of the instrument.
3. Bass - to add punch and weight to electric, acoustic and synth basses.
4. Drums - to emphasize transient detail across the spectrum to minimise muddy or flabby sounds.

Neutrino Sound Examples

In this example, Neutrino has been applied to every track individually. Listen carefully to the relationship of the kick drum and synth bass before and after Neutrino.

In this example, Neutrino has been applied to 6 submixed busses: Lead Vocals, Drums, Electric Guitars, Acoustic Guitars, and Background Vocals Focus your attention on the clarity and articulation of each instrument. Neutrino's effect is particularly noticeable on the Lead Vocal and doubled Acoustic Guitars.

In this example, Neutrino has been applied to every track individually. Listen to the way Neutrino subtly lifts the Lead Vocal and Snare Drum to sit on top of the mix, and also tightens up the lower midrange, removing the slightest amount of "mud" from the kick drum and bass.
