Neyrinck V-Control Pro 2 Now Supports Dolby Atmos Plugin Control

Neyrinck the makers of V-Control Pro 2 have announced that V-Panner and V-Console iPad apps in V-Control Pro 2 now include a new Dolby Atmos plug-in panner screen for Pro Tools making V-Control Pro the first iPad touch screen solution to support the Dolby Atmos Plug-in control.

How Does The Dolby Atmos Pan Screen Work in Neyrinck V-Control Pro 2?

The Dolby Atmos plug-in is used to create 3D panning on Dolby Atmos object tracks in Pro Tools at the dubbing stage in an audio post production workflow. The 3D panning data from the Dolby Atmos plug-in is sent to the Dolby Rendering and Mastering Unit otherwise known as the RMU together with direct audio output of the object track. The new Dolby Atmos Pan Screen in the V-Panner and V-Console iPad app directly controls the object panning in the Dolby Atmos plug-in.

The Dolby Atmos iPad screen includes controls for Z Elevation, and Wedge, Ceiling and Sphere Elevation modes as well as an object size control, mirroring controls in the plug-in. Current V-Control Pro 2 customers can upgrade V-Console and V-Panner apps for no charge. All you need to do is download the latest version of V-Control Pro 2 software from the Neyrinck website.

What Is Neyrinck V-Control Pro 2?

V-Control Pro 2 is a complete integrated control system for OSX and Windows media applications including Pro Tools. Free control apps connect through the V-Control Pro 2 software that integrates and simplifies control of the main OSX and Windows media applications. V-Control Pro 2 can also used to connect the Slate Raven MTi2 and MTX mk2 systems to media applications such as Pro Tools.

New Free Neyrinck V-Panner

The new free V-Panner is designed for surround and stereo mixing in Pro Tools. It runs on iOS and Android tablets and phones with wireless networking, on a laptop web browser, or a direct wired connection from the iPad. You can set up two mono track surround panners, or a stereo track surround panner, for touch-panning control. V-Panner also includes an innovative motion feature that allows panning to follow the motion of a smartphone.

Free Neyrinck V-Console App

V-Console is a free 8 or 16 fader iOS and Android control app for recording, editing and mixing that can also use multiple devices for up to 32 faders of control. New V-Console upgrades include V-Window that allow users to control plug-ins using the actual plug-in screens, and an improved insert and plug-in popup window.

Is It All Free?

The simple answer is no. The V-Control Pro 2 system can be purchased for $49.99 from the Neyrinck Store for an annual license. You no longer buy the app through the Apple App Store. There is also a limited version free trial available so you can try it out to see how it will work for you.

The V-Console and V-Panner are free apps that are available from the Neyrinck website for Android and web, and from the Apple App store for iOS devices which then communicate with the host system on your computer, which is the bit you are paying for.
