Undertone Sound Library Release A Prairie Wind Companion

Undertone have just released a collection of Grassland Prairie wind sounds which they have entitled A Prairie Wind Companion.  They wanted to capture the prairie before the grasshoppers, crickets and cicadas were out, but what they found instead were 2 very blustery days with 20-40 MPH winds.  

Lots of tall grass blowing, open fields, some pine tree, some deciduous, but mostly open.  Many files of intense winds.  There is only the occasional bird song.  But at one point, two hawks were tussling and diving in the winds and flew over the microphones making one of the coolest sounds they have ever recorded and it's included on the end of the Soundcloud demo. So now they have a Companion Pack to their Grassland Prairies.

SoundBits Release Just Impacts - Extension II

Just Impacts – Extension II features 500 sound effects of mainly metal and wood impacts, metal junk hits, crashes, heavy door slams, metal drops, metal wall and oil tank hits…

All sounds were recorded with a RODE NTG-3, a RODE NT-4 and a Beyerdynamic MC950 microphone on a Sound Devices 744T (+ SD MixPre-D). Each sound was heavily edited and cleaned. So there is no noise or other unwanted sounds. The sounds were layered, EQed and compressed for that extra punch. So they can be instantly to treat your medieval and sci fi battles, fighting and walking robots and anything else that needs some heavy metal treatment.

There are 500 Files recorded at 96kHz / 24bit / Stereo with a total size of 650 MB and the normal price is €40.80 inc VAT but until June 11th SoundBits are offering a 20% discount so you can get Just Impacts - Extension II for  €33.60 inc VAT.

SoundBits Release Electro-Mechanics Toolkit

Not satisfied with releasing one library SoundBits have also released Electro-Mechanics Toolkit.

The Electro-Mechanics ToolKit Sound Effects Collection features a wide range of versatile electric and some mechanic motors, engines, tools and toys. Many different grinders, drills, screwdrivers, buzz saws, sanders, kitchen tools, electric and mechanic toys, CD-drives, doors, and much more. All waiting to be cut up, layered, edited and mangled with FX to become spaceship engines, robot movements, sci fi doors, weapon mechanics and anything that moves by electricity.

This library is not meant to be a comprehensive tools library but rather a composite toolkit to bring futuristic electro-mechanic machines, devices, weapons, vehicles, … sonically to life.

All sounds in this pack were recorded with up to 4 mics and mixed to give a full and rich sound and cleaned and edited for direct use in your productions.
