In the case of the letter N one name looms large in pro audio. UAD have given several Neve products their attention, The 1073 preamp and EQ, the 33906 compressor and the 1081 and 31102 EQs are all available but for this post I've decided to concentrate on the 88RS channel strip.

Featuring a Unison enabled preamp section, filters, EQ, a compressor limiter, expander gate and meticulously modelled input and output stages this plug-in is full fat in terms of its sound and its DSP usage. Thankfully there is an excellent legacy version with a correspondingly lighter processing demand for those times when you don't need the full version.
