The Answer To Why Pro Tools Upgrades Have Gone From The Avid Store
At the beginning of the month we reported Pro Tools HD Missing From Avid Store that following the new upgrade plans introduced on January 1st 2016, they had disappeared off the Avid Store. We have been doing some digging and we can now reveal why the Pro Tools HD upgrades are not visible on the Avid Store. In addition we have found a way to still get the upgrades at last year's prices.
Upgrades Hidden
What Avid has chosen to do, is to have them in the Avid Store BUT to hide them from normal use. So if you go direct into the Avid Store you will not find the Pro Tools upgrade options listed.
Access Via Your Avid Master Account
However if you have yet to upgrade your Pro Tools HD software, or when it comes to renew your existing upgrade or upgrade/support plan, you should go into your Avid Master Account and choose the appropriate item to trigger an upgrade. See these 2 images...

How To Buy Pro Tools Upgrades At Last Year's Prices
But before you try that route we have found that there is another way to upgrade your Pro Tools software. The other way is to find a dealer who still has stock of stock of Activation Cards which they will be selling at last year's prices. So check out your own dealer and see if they have any still in stock. If you don't have a dealer then these dealers who support Pro Tools Expert still have some stock at the time of writing.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The license code for this product must be activated prior to February 15th 2016. If this code is not redeemed prior to February 15th 2016, this software license becomes invalid and you will not be able to activate this product.
Once dealers have sold out of last year's stock you will be able to buy the upgrades at the new prices or use your Avid Master Account to trigger an upgrade purchase via the Avid Store at the new prices.
