Blood, Guts, Gore and More!  I have always loved bone breaks and blood splatters and all things horror.  While creating Combat Library Volume 1 ( aka Punch Sound Effects ), I wanted to add in blood and guts and bone breaks.  But, I knew I wouldn't be doing the sounds justice unless I spent the time to craft unique and exciting elements. Instead of trying to do a rush job and add on a few gore sounds, I decided to make a whole library of Gore!  I spent a few months recording, processing and experimenting.  I wanted to get all the gore sounds I've always wanted in my projects at work.  I wanted to get those brutal blood splatters, chilling knife stabs and crisp bone breaks I couldn't find anywhere! I'm excited to share these gruesome recordings with you all!  All the sounds are mastered and ready to be dropped into any environment.  It is a complete library of all things gore!  I even bought a saw and used it on actual bones...how's that for dedication?

Sound Effects Search

Following on from our feature last week on free sound effects, Paul has told me about his sound effects blog Sound Effects Search which he has built for sound pros and the recordists who make sound libraries. Another intent is to help pros to find sounds easily and to help library creators get extra exposure to the community. 

Paul also writes a sound library blog that examines new releases. It covers all recordists and sound designers that I can find. Right now the site has over 1000 indie libraries, and about 5-10 a week are added, and it is growing fast. He also have a page dedicated to listing all free sound libraries as well.

Sonniss Add Glowb Collections To Their Catalog

Sonniss have just added an interesting collection of sound libraries. They are from a company called 'Glowb' here in the UK. Headed by Blair Jollands, the sound editor behind Alien Vs Predator. You can check out their collection over at Sonniss.

A lot of sound effect editors and post production editors use SoundMiner, but although they are very popular they are not the only game in town. I recently heard about a free library management package from SonicWire called Mutant.
