Free Ways To Give Pro Tools 3 Missing Features

Pro Tools has a lot of great features but it still lacks some things that we all need to use on a regular basis in when producing sessions. Here are some free ways to give Pro Tools 3 features it is missing,

AutoTune

Love it or hate it there are times when you need to give an instrument or a vocal a little helping hand in the tuning department. MAutoPitch is part of the free plug-in collection from Melda and it offers a pretty respectable tuning plug-in for those needing to fix something they can't re-record or of course tune the crap out of it for effect. See at the bottom of this article for info on how to grab it.

Mono/Stereo Switch On The Master Buss

If you want to check mono compatibility on your mix (you should) then use the feature-rich HOFA 4U that offers a lot of great mix tools including a mono/stereo switch. See at the bottom of this article for info on how to grab it.

Acoustic Drum VI

Boom is a cool little plug-in for electronic beats but Pro Tools does not have a good drum VI for those wanting to create more conventional beats. Check out Addictive Drums Free, a teaser version of the full Addictive Drums plug-in that offers a nice sounding acoustic kit and some other extras for those needing to get some acoustic drums down when song-writing.

How To Get Them

All of the plug-ins mentioned above can be grabbed for our Free Pro Tools plug-ins database that features of 100 Pro Tools plug-ins, all of them are free. More here
