Sunday Sound effects Roundup - Tovusound & Luftrausch

Edward - A Foley Instrument From Tovusound

This month we are running a deal on Edward, a foleyart instrument for Contact from Tovusound. You can check out the video review I made as well as the samples and community member 'Soundforfilm" said in the comments...

I already had a foley midi instrument in my kit for low budget films and Docs but it always required several recording passes to get pan, ambiance & perspective. Edward is a one pass solution and the samples are beautiful.

For this month you can get Edward for just £35 from our deals page.

Luftrausch Ambiences & Sound Effects

Whilst trawling around the internet I came across Luftrausch, which is a partnership between Ingo Pusswald and Thomas Voglreiter, who describe themselves as sound designers and re-recording mixers in the field of film and television post-production. they share a passion for ‘sound on film’ and especially enjoy creating and designing sound atmospheres and are based in Vienna, Austria.

It was their Ambience collections that caught my eye, both in the types they offer and that they are available in surround, B Format as well as stereo. The B format is especially welcome in the growing immersive sound world because there is height information in the B format and that can be routed to the height channels in Dolby Atmos or Auro 3D.

There are 5 packs available at the moment and all of them have useful written all over them.

Halls ‘n’ Ways is all about large and reverberant indoor ambiences with a properly dispensed liveliness, like halls, stairs and hallways. Room Tones, in these rather small places, you can feel and hear the environment and the size of a location practically noise free.

Back n Allleys & Rural n Nature

Back ‘n’ Alleys contains environments where a sonic enclosure of the sound space is clearly noticeable, like backyards, courtyards or alleys. The focus is set on urban liveliness without too much traffic or city rumble. They can be used to improve city ambiences as well as rural environments. Rural ‘n’ Nature includes soundscapes ranging from small villages, barnyards and meadows to quiet forest glades.

Price: 60 Euros for stereo version or 80 Euros for the Surround version which includes B format and stereo versions as well.

Drives n Rides - Ambience Sweetener

Drive ‘n’ Rides contains elevator rides, boat rowing, subway and tram sounds, ski gondolas etc. all in surround. Ambience Sweetener combines all sound effects which come along during ambience recordings, like car drive bys, a helicopter hovering over town or church bells. Via metadata you can easily find the corresponding ambience recording and “sweeten” these atmospheres with special elements. Some effects are provided in different perspectives for easy and fast editing. Ambience Sweetener also includes some interesting recordings which are not ambiences but can be considered as atmospheric, like a dog kennel recorded in the distance at night in the middle of a forest glade.

Price: 60 Euros for stereo version or 80 Euros for the Surround version which includes B format and stereo versions as well.

City Colour - Night n Day

See this content in the original post

City Colour Day includes ambiences recorded in large cities during day time. The focus is set on urban liveliness without too much traffic. The sound space is open, wide and not enclosed. Most of these atmospheres are recorded at a larger distance to give you new perspectives of a large and lively city. City Colour Night includes ambiences recorded in large cities during the night till early morning. Here you find quiet city soundscapes ranging from very large and empty public places up to distance nightlife.

Price: 60 Euros for stereo version or 80 Euros for the Surround version which includes B format and stereo versions as well.

Wall Walla

Wall Walla contains only real and natural wallas (e.g. voices, talking, mumbling, crowds etc.). The background murmur is mostly a mixture of different languages. But you will also find some typically Viennese dialect Walla. Unique perspectives, for example, are a party recorded from an adjoining flat, a street fair captured from inside or a restaurant recorded from a floor above.

Price: 60 Euros for stereo version or 80 Euros for the Surround version which includes B format and stereo versions as well.
