Waves, makers of some of the world's most used plug-ins, have announced a collaboration with Avid that will see Waves DSP plug-ins on the new Avid S6L Live desk powered by Waves Soundgrid technology.

This will be welcome news to live sound engineers who use Waves plug-ins on other popular live consoles. One contributor in the Prosound Network forum wrote "Going to be a shame for Avid to launch the S6L without their flagship Waves plugins on board. I'm sure there will be a Soundgrid card though. I mean, Waves has more plugins that most of the rest of the plugin industry combined. There's a LOT of meat being left on the bone if S6L plugins are AAX-DSP only, and Waves isn't on board. "
