We are human, we all make mistakes at some point, whether you are a beginner or a professional mistakes will take place in the studio. So I was thinking over the holiday period, why don't we share our awkward stories with each other and have a good laugh? Here is one of mind to get things going...

I was on my way to one of the big post production studios for two different recording sessions. I had some fever that day so I felt sick and was grumpy about being a freelancer because I wasn't able to have a day off because I was feeling sick. 

After arriving to the studio I got my schedule from the receptionist and she told me that my recording was taking place in the top studio three floors up. Ah great.. I have to walk three stairs with fever to prepare my session and then three stairs back down to pick up my talent and then three stairs back up again (I am that kind of person who never gets sick. But when I do, I almost tend to die).

So I picked up my talent and introduced myself. After that we started to record this voiceover commercial thing for the Swedish Idol. His performance was really good and he had a smooth nice voice and did respond very well to my feedback. He suddenly made my day a bit better. When we were done I asked him; I like your voice, can you sing as well? At first he looked at me a bit weird like that he wasn't understanding my question. Then he answered really calmly that he loved to sing and that singing was what he mostly did for a living. When it was time to go home the receptionist asked me with a lot of enthusiasm in her voice; How was he? I didn't understand a thing until she explained to me that I just had recorded the latest winner of the Swedish Idol.

Mike here, as the editor, I felt I wanted to add one of mine to this thread. For nearly ten years I worked in UK commercial radio as an engineer and for the last five years I was responsible for all the outside broadcasts, or 'remotes'. On one occasion, we were doing our first ever live commercial. It was from a local shopping centre and one of our presenters was voicing it. She was a little nervous as it was the first time we had done this and in my attempt to relax here,I reminded here that the audience was a round 1 million just like the normal audience for the show. Needless to say it didn't make her feel better, but the live commercial did go off without a hitch.
