With the introduction of Pro Tools 12.4 and the long awaited Track Freeze coming close on the heels of the 12.3 release which included Track Commit, it seems Avid are starting to come good on their promise to release updates much more frequently now they have implemented the upgrade plans. What would you like to see added to Pro Tools 12 next? Track Freeze was the top item in the Pro Tools Ideascale so to start the ball rolling here are the top 5 features on Ideascale that have yet to be implemented...

1. Folders In The Region List

The title says it all. Avid changed the name of the Region List to Clip List when they released Pro Tools 11 and this request has been in the Ideascale for over 6 years. It still baffles me as to why Avid's Audio Vision had folders (which was Avid's audio solution before they took over Digidesign) but we still don't have this much requested feature in Pro Tools.

2. Save/Load Plug-in Chains

Although we have the Track Hack developed by Phillip Nichols which is a work round to give us Track Presets, wouldn't it be really good to have this feature as a proper feature in Pro Tools?

3. Marker Improvements

This is a request to improve the range and types of markers and to have multiple marker rulers in the Edit window as well as to be able to set custom colours to certain markers. Then it would be possible to set ADR markers, foley markers, music markers, dialog markers etc. This is another request that is over 6 years old.

4. Phase Switch On Every Track In The Mix Window

Again this has been submitted over 6 years ago and is the fifth most requested feature on the Pro Tools Ideascale.

5. Bus Soloing Feature

This is the most recently posted request in the top 5 which was only started 4 years ago. We could use the ability to solo a bus instead of having to select all the individual tracks in order to hear the mix.
