Waves has produced a plug-in emulation of the infamous dbx 160 compressor. Considered to be one of the all time greats as a drum compressor as well as being great on Bass, Vocals, I could go on, the original dbx 160 compressor was used in almost every major recording in the late 1970s and throughout the 80s, and so became an industry standard.

The Waves dbx 160 plug-in has been developed in collaboration with Harman and is an authorised emulation from Harman with the Waves developers using advanced and meticulous modeling technologies that results in what Waves claim to be the most authentic-sounding emulation in existence.

The Waves dbx 160 is intended for use in the studio and live. It also features an MS matrix, mix and noise controls, and a stereo component (the original hardware was mono only) and will be available in both Native and SoundGrid versions.
