Source Elements Issue Warning About LogMeIn & BT Broadband

Our friends at Source Elements have issued a couple of warning you might want to be aware of.

LogMeIn

As a result of users experiences they are suggesting that users of the LogMeIn service might want to consider uninstalling LogMeIn as the new version takes over your audio drivers. This is what George Whittam said…

If you use LogMeIn for remote access of another computer that is used for audio production, BEWARE! Not only is it no longer free, but there is an audio driver that can really gum up the works that CAN’T be removed… Time to move to Splashtop or TeamViewer.

As a result, Source Elements are recommending that LogMeIn is not for Audio professionals. Source Elements themselves use TeamViewer.

BT Broadband in the UK

There have been some problems with BT Broadband users in the UK with the new Porn Filters causing other unwanted problems. Source Elements say…

Are you in the UK? Your ISP may be giving you bad internet due to the new ‘filter’ - we’re starting to see some dodgy internet behaviour with Source-Connect even on a good fibre-optic connection, or maybe you can’t even see your Bank’s website anymore. Call your ISP and opt-out from the so-called “Porn Filter”.

Its early days to know whether it is just BT customers or if other broadband suppliers using BT’s infrastructure are affected.

Thanks to the team at Source Elements for keeping us up to date.
