Community Tip - Using The Aux Input on an 003 To Monitor Headphone Mixes

With the support of iLok, more tips & tricks from the community. Here is one from Pascal Coulon….

When monitoring the Cue mix in the control room whilst recording on a Digi003 (without using any other mixing console where you might have more options to do this). What I usually do is to mix via sends, sending each track to Out 3-4 which can be routed to headphones 2.

This way, you can have 2 different mixes going on but normally you wouldn’t be able to listen what you’re sending to out 3-4. What I do is to connect Out 3-4 to the Aux In input on the Digi 003 so I can hear the musicians’ mix when I push the Aux In button.

This way you know exactly how much gain you add on a certain track if requested and don’t just pull up the fader. You can also see the mini-fader for each track on sends view in the Edit window so you have instant access to the musicians mix.
