Community Tip - Send To Apollo Headphone Outputs

With the support of iLok, more tips & tricks from the community. This is from Alan Gruskoff

Hello community, Just finish installing and learning my shiny new Universal Audio Apollo interface. What a superb piece of engineering it is.

One interesting Apollo/PT feature is being able to open a Send on a track directly to the Apollo hardware’s Headphones 1 or Headphones 2 buss, making it real easy to give the drummer and singer completely separate mixes,  by just using track “Sends”.

I found that if I set up a new Stereo Track, point that track’s input to the Apollo MONitor buss, hit record and I now have a pristine real-time mix. I never trusted “bounce to disk” and less so that in compressed time.

This “return routing” seems to make best use of the Apollo’s interface. This seems intuitive, that its Apollo Out to Apollo In, done in the hardware. Are there better ways  you can suggest to get a clean stereo mix other than this method? Thanks, keep up the good work.

James says - Good to hear. Real time summing using the PT mixer and the Apollo harware. Nice.
