New Blue Cat MB-7 Mixer 2 Offers VST Hosting In AAX 64 Bit
Never ones to sit on their hands for long, our friends at Blue Cat have been at it again; this time, their new MB-7 Mixer 2 enables AAX 64-bit owners to host VSTs.
On the Blue Cat blog, they write;
Some plug-ins introduce latency (delay) to the signal because their algorithms require it. Due to its parallel processing structure, Blue Cat’s MB-7 Mixer 2 needs to compensate the latency on other bands when a plug-in adds latency on one band, so that the reconstruction of the signal is perfect (artefacts would appear otherwise, due to interferences around the crossover frequencies). The plug-in also reports the total latency to the host application so that it can be further compensated
