All of us at Pro Tools Expert were very pleased to hear the news at NAMM from Universal Audio and Softube of the upcoming release of Softubes Vintage, Metal and Bass Amp Room Plugins onto the UAD DSP platform.

Also announced by Plugin Alliance members Brainworx, and following on from their very popular BX Rockrack Plugin was another ENGL themed development which will also be available on the UAD platform.

“The ENGL Amps were modeled in close cooperation with ENGL Germany, using a NEW technology developed by Brainworx, which enables accurate reproduction of the power amp behavior. These plugins are original ENGL products and will be marketed by ENGL and Brainworx.

This is great news because amp sims can be some of the most CPU hungry plugins on a native platform, Now being able to offload these great amp sims to DSP will not only sound great but free up some valuable processing power for other tasks.
