Community Tip - Using Blue Cats' MB-7 For Focusrite Liquid Mix In Pro Tools 11

With the support of iLok, more tips & tricks from the community. Here is one from Espen Bore Hollund…

I just wanted to give a little heads up for something i stumbled upon a few weeks ago. I now use PT11 for all my mixes and was more or less preparing to get rid of my faithful Liquid Mix 16. I then came across jBridgeM; For Mac, for Windows, a neat little program that can bridge 32-bit VST-plugins for use in 64-bit hosts. I gave it a go and to my surprise I was able to host the Liquid Mix plug-in inside the Bluecat MB-7 Mixer inside PT11 (thank you PTE for the good deal on MB-7!). As an extra bonus I can also use the latest Liqud Mix software version, which wasn’t compatible with earlier version of Pro Tools. It’s not a very elegant solution to my problem, but it was the only one I could find. It seems to work as intended and I’m sure jBridge will work for other 32-bit VST’s as well. It’s only €9.90 EUR for the full version. Thank you for your continued awesomeness! I have followed your blog since I first found out about you back in 2009. I have learnt so much from you guys and I am always looking forward to the next podcast.

A little special for Russ and his dry humor: Please don’t get bored because of my middle name. Believe it or not, my middle name actually is “Bore”. Bore is a place in Norway, so is also Hollund (my surname) and Hell (!)
