It’s been a long time coming, but the sense of relief I had to find out that the AIR team had been acquired by the inMusic team was overwhelming. Let me tell you why.

For the last few years I’ve watched as the team at AIR have had to fight a lack of vision, investment, corporate bureaucracy and lots more besides, as they tried to keep the vision alive. It would be hard enough to see such talent and potential squandered if they were complete strangers, but many of the AIR team are my friends and because of this community, many of them had become your friends too, we had taken them to heart.

Latterly they had found a friend and leader in Samara Winterfeld, who almost single handedly from within Avid, fought for AIR the vision and the people who work there.

For this reason and many more besides, it was a no-brainer when I talked on the phone with Wolfram and we talked about the possibility of bringing the AIR Users Blog back. It was like the line from my favourite movie ‘The Blues Brothers’, it’s the scene in the Armada Rooms at The Holiday Inn when Elwood says: We’re putting the band back together.

Well the AIR team have had a tough few years with almost zero support and vision from Avid, so now they have the investment and vision of Jack O’Donnell and his team, I think they deserve ours too. You’ll find an AIR menu at the top of the page for our dedicated AIR section and yes the URL www.airusersblog.com is back!

I look forward to working with the team at inMusic to assist them in any way I can to ensure that the users of these great products are given all the support they can get.
