Can't Remember All Those Pro Tools Shortcuts - Qwikn Can

Qwikn is a brilliant little application that sits in your menu bar ready for use at any point.  Once it is installed on your system, click on the Qwikn icon in the menu bar and simply type a keyword or two into the search box and up will come a series of possible shortcuts.

I typed in Zoom because I never seem to be able to remember the shortcut for zooming the waveform vertically on just one track. Once you have found the shortcut you were looking for in the list, click on it to highlight it and the shortcut will appear in a box at the bottom of the window.

You can also add it to your Qwikie’s list by clicking on the Add to Qwikie’s button at the bottom. Now that shortcut will be in a list of your favourites, which you can access by clicking on the Qwikie’s button to the right of the search box.

Needs an update

This is an incredibly useful little application that has become my friend, however when you go on the Qwkin web site it refers to Pro Tools 8 which seems so long ago, so I got in touch with them and Grant responded very promptly to say…

To be honest, Qwikn has stayed ‘as is’ since release, however, an update and make-over is overdue and planned for by year end. A feature-request list has been created from user feed-back.

It is Mac only and you can try before you buy, just download and install it and then for $10 you can buy this neat little tool and yes it has Pro Tools 8 shortcuts loaded in it but most of them are still the same. If you have any thoughts of how to make it better then you can comment here or use the Contact page on the Qwikn site.
