X2Pro Audio Convert integrates Final Cut Pro X into the professional audio workflow. It moves audio projects to Avid Pro Tools via AAF with embedded audio media. X2Pro converts an exported Final Cut Pro X XML v1.1 into an AAF file which Avid Pro Tools can open as a session, delivering seamless integration between the two applications.

X2Pro has a drag and drop, user interface which provides feedback on key project stats. Using the enhanced metadata in XML 1.1 from Final Cut Pro X, X2Pro provides a high fidelity conversion to a Pro Tools session, with planned support for audio gain, panning and fade handles.

X2Pro v1.0 translates your audio timeline along with L-cuts, J-cuts and transitions as well as the incredibly powerful FCP-X compound clips. Transitions are converted into linear cross fades. Audio media can be any QuickTime supported audio, non-PCM audio is converted to PCM at either 16 or 24 bit.

Multicam Clips are effectively translated but require the export of the associated event in FCP 10.0.3.

X2Pro v1.0 gives a clear warning when it comes across elements of a sequence which it does not currently translate such as gain, panning, fades, time maps, effects and markers. Auditions must be finalized first before exporting the XML to X2Pro. 

Only audio media is translated. They still recommend rendering a version of the flattened video and exporting for use with Pro Tools.

X2Pro Audio Convert is available at an introductory discount price of $69.99 until 31st March 2012, compared to a list price of $99.99.

So we now have a route to manage a smooth audio post production workfow from FCPX to Pro Tools. Hoorah, I think, as this will enable post production companies to pick up work from FCPX users and FCPX users can now get their audio professioally handled.
