Insight started out life as the Meter Bridge module in Ozone Advanced but the guys at iZotope have developed it into a one stop metering stand alone metering plug-in. Good news for Ozone 5 Advanced owners, you will get it free. As you can see there a number of different types of metering and visualisation tools bundled together in Insight.

But its audio, so why do we need metering? is a question often asked. Although our ears are very good at judging sound they can become accustomed to a new sound and so aren’t very good at absolute measurements. Hence the meter to be able to measure the sound and present that in a visual form. We have all kinds of meters over the years from valve ‘magic eyes’ to moving coil meters to LED barograph meters as well as oscilloscopes. In developing Insight, iZotope have brought together all the different metering and visualisation techniques they have delved in products like Ozone and RX2 and then added some new feature like loudness metering to produce Insight.
