Prism Sound Announce Pro Tools HDX Compatible Interface Module For ADA-8

See this content in the original post

The Prism Sound ADA-8XR professional modular audio interface family has been one of the ‘non Avid’ interface options for Pro Tools HD users as it has evolved alongside Digidesign Mix and later AVID Pro Tools HD systems. Pro Tools users with Prism Sound ADA-8 family interfaces such as Capitol Records, Metropolis and Abbey Road will be especially pleased that their investment will continue to prove its worth with the latest generation of Pro Tools hardware and software from AVID.  Graham Boswell, Director of Sales & Marketing at Prism Sound says

“We’re proud to announce support for ADA-8 and ADA-8XR users with the latest generation interface for Pro Tools and look forward to many more years of successful interoperability. Since the Lord of the Rings trilogy a few years ago, the ADA-8XR has become something of a standard in the film scoring world as the premium quality audio recording interface. The new HDX-compatible card for direct connection to the latest Pro Tools processing hardware will ensure that the ADA-8XR family continues in this role.”

Note: The ADA-8XR family also supports AES/EBU IO and FireWire, which can be used with the new Apple Thunderbolt adapters.

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that Prism Sound have put the mini Digilink connectors on this card so bypassing the need to have the corrrect adaptor lead that I talked about in the Lynx Auroroa and LT-HD review.

I haven’t tried this but Prism Sound do have a long reputaion for producing great sounding interfaces so it is good news to see them keeping up to date with the developments in the Pro Tools world.
