Avid To Discontinue Vantage Support Programme

After just over a year Avid have decided to pull the plug on their Vantage Support product. Thanks to Kevin Darbyshire-Bryant for letting us know, he received this in an email…

We want to personally thank you for joining our Avid® Vantage support program and hope you’re enjoying the help, advice, and plug-ins that come with membership. Unfortunately, we’ve decided to discontinue this program, but want you to know that you’ll still have full access to all of its benefits through the remainder of your membership period. That said, once your membership expires, you’ll lose access to the plug-ins provided as part of this program. If you’d like to purchase any of them, they are available in the Avid Store. Be sure to also use your Avid Store coupon if you haven’t already, as it will expire the same day as your membership.

This has caused some concern that Avid are shutting down their support services, they aren’t. This is what Avid have said…

Just wanted to reiterate that everyone is entitled to all the benefits of the program for the full remainder of their membership. You will definitely get what you purchased.  We know it seems like we just put Vantage out there but it’s been over a year now and unfortunately we just didn’t get enough interest in the offer to keep it around. This was only one offering, and Vantage included Plug-ins and a store discount so it wasn’t really just about support.

In case you haven’t heard about Vantage this is what is was about…

The Avid Vantage programme, provides for unlimited online support from Avid technicians in addition to the forums. You also get a 50% discount on telephone support. As the value added portion of this package you get a $99 coupon for the avid store for upgrades etc but also a package of 4 Avid Audio plugins to use for the length of your subscription. - Cost - $149

Avid also said in the email they sent out to Vantage users…

We’d love to hear what you liked about the offer, and if you have more feedback on what you would like to see in future Support Plans please let us know.

So do them them know either here or through their contact channels what you would like. But it is interesting that thos kind of Suport Plus package hasn’t taken off.
